Early Mans Tools

There are quite a few different animals which use tools. From the Song Thrush's snail cracking anvil stone, to the Chimpanzee with it's array of tools' for cracking nuts, to a stick for getting at ants and termites.

But of all animals man has used his large brain to take full advantage of his surroundings, to create tools to make his life easier.

The first tools were probably just stones that had the rite shape for the job. But you can't always find the rite stone so, they began to fashion there own to suit there purpose.

Most tools of early man were used to kill animals and then to scrape the hide, and take off the meat. Those tools were usually made from bone or flint and were usually held in the hand. But as time went on they learned to attach them to sticks, and so increase the power.

As they became more experienced at flint napping (Making flint tools.) the designs became more complex.

Arrow heads were an advancement which meant that they could kill there pray at a distance, and not put themselves at risk, and of cause, they could be used to kill other people.
